This kind of sounds like Always Sunny in Philadephia.

A Vancouver cyclist is furious police have not laid charges against the driver who allegedly drove him off the road and assaulted him last week in what appears to be a case of road rage.

Edward Hoey says he was riding his bicycle down Georgia Street around 4 p.m. PT on Jan. 24 when he stopped in the left-hand turning lane for a red light.

When the light turned green and Hoey started making the turn, he claims the motorist behind him started honking his horn and revving his engine.

Hoey says this caused him to crash his bicycle into the sidewalk. He got off his bicycle and approached the vehicle to confront the driver about what happened.

Always sunny for reference:

I didn't think it was worth a post by itself, but last night I was out on the pushbike when someone cut me up three times in about twenty feet, including pulling out right in front of me as I was doing 30ish - fortunately I'd been expecting it so was able to avoid. I didn't follow the car on purpose, but it went the same way I was going anyway and then stopped at the station just down the road, so I stopped to have a brief chat with the driver.

He rolled down his window and I said something, fairly politely, about 'did you even notice me there?' Instead of going off into a mad rant, the driver apologised and said he hadn't seen me clearly until after he pulled out - I think he'd actually seen me but assumed a cyclist would be going much slower. I explained that I have the experience to know when car drivers are about to do something like what he did, but that there are lots of inexperienced cyclists taking to the roads in London, and that if he'd pulled out in front of one of them he'd quite possibly have killed or seriously injured them.

The driver accepted my point, apologised again, and promised to take extra care checking for cyclists in future. He then pointed out that I wasn't as visible as I could have been - he was right, I stupidly forgot my hi vis at home - and I agreed. Then I pointed out that, rightly or wrongly, many cyclists aren't, and so he should really try and demist his windows better in future, even when he's just going around the corner. He agreed too, and we parted on friendly terms.

WTF?

That's how it should be. Two adults admitting to their mistakes, and probably learning from them as well. It's so much better than these aggressive emotionally 12 year olds in adult bodies.

What is the deal? I keep seeing these videos of cyclists barely standing up for themselves. Here's a life rule, if someone is attacking you then you are allowed to fight back , it doesn't make you a bigger man to sit there and just take the asswhooping.

He had an ass kicking coming just for wearing skinny jeans.

Anything beyond that? Meh.

I carry a large canister of bear mace ziptied to my handlebars just for assholes like this.

I won't start an altercation, but I will damn sure finish one.
